Review of Chapter 7 from my POV
Arthur Leywin and his companions are assailed by at the very least thirty bandits, with their escape routes obstructed. The situation is grim: they are entrapped, with bandits armed with melee tools obstructing their paths and archers ready on a cliff. Despite the danger, Arthur’s event shows up uninjured except for Helen, who has been wounded by an arrow. A menacing bandit leader orders the capture of the ladies and child, sparking a fierce anger in Arthur, despite his young age. Arthur, in a determined attempt to safeguard his mommy, channels mana into his arms and presses her to safety and security, risking his very own position at the same time. After that uses a blade, imbued with mana, to disrupt a magician’s spell aimed at them. The magician’s loss of focus triggers the spell to deteriorate, but not before a recurring surge of water threatens to press Arthur off the cliff.
Arthur’s last-ditch effort, Fallback, includes a mana string affixed to a knife embedded in the magician’s body. As the water spell strikes him, he pulls the magician down with him, compromising himself to secure his mommy. In his fading consciousness, he sees his allies acquiring the advantage, and although he is sorry for not satisfying his expected brother or sister, he discovers solace in his family members’s safety and security. The scene ends with Arthur succumbing to the darkness, his ideas on his household, and his unfulfilled desire to be an older sibling.
